World Under-18 Tennis Tour: Mozambicans Reach the Final

Mozambican tennis players Éric Sigaúque and Luca Figueiredo reached the final of the first stage of the under-18 world circuit, which ended last Sunday (November 12) in Luanda, Angola. The national duo were beaten by Poles Antoni Biczyc/Karol Wyszkow, 6/2 and 6/4. The second stage of the circuit, which counts towards the world ranking for the category, began last Tuesday (November 15).

For his performance, Luca Figueiredo amassed nine points and climbed 346 places to number 2674 in the ranking. Éric Sigaúque scored 8.25 points and climbed 473 places to number 2766.

In the same week, the Mozambican Edilson Rosa reached his goal in the Tunisian tournament, reaching the quarter-finals. Edilson is currently the best-placed Mozambican in the ITF junior rankings.

Mozambican Stélio Carlos was appointed by the ITF as the referee for these two stages in Luanda.
